Cousins! A member of the University of Alabama football team is currently being accused of knowingly spreading a sexually transmitted disease!

According to the New York Post, 19-year-old Elijah Pritchett was arrested on Wednesday, December 20th. The offensive lineman was later released on a $500 bond although he was charged with a Class C misdemeanor on behalf of the Tuscaloosa Police Department.

“Any person afflicted with a sexually transmitted disease who shall knowingly transmit, or assume the risk of transmitting, or do any act which will probably or likely transmit such disease to another person,” reads an obtained warrant reports AL.com.

According to the New York Post Elijah was pulled over by police earlier this year for driving 95 in a 65-mph zone following the Crimson Tide’s first spring scrimmage.

Despite telling officers he wasn’t aware of how fast he was going, Elijah later pleaded guilty and was ordered to do 10 hours of community service, including completing a four-hour defensive driving course and paying $197 in court fees.

After meeting the issued requirements Elijah’s case was dismissed by a judge on Sept. 5.

As of Thursday, December 21st, Elijah received a youthful offender status which allows offenders between the ages of 18 to 21 to enter a plea deal for the possibility of a lighter sentence.

Elijah had been listed as a top QL prospect for both Southern California and Georgia State University after graduating from high school. Despite his previously announced plans to transfer within his first year, Elijah ultimately changed his mind.

“Transferring is not in my best interest. I apologize for any and all inconveniences. I’m 100% locked in. Roll Tide!”

Sources state that it is too soon to confirm if he will play in the game against the Michigan Wolverines in the College Football Playoffs opener scheduled on January 1st.

It has been stated that if Elijah is convicted, he can face up to three months in jail or fines up of to $500.
