Cousins! A mother of four has sadly passed away following a tragic accident at a local LA fitness gym located in Washington state!
Delrie had been working out with her sister Marissa Woods at the time of the ordeal within the Kent Washington located gym. According to the New York Post, the treadmill was a part of the ladies’ regular workout, and they are said to have used the machines quite often.
Marisa says Delrie’s death was a bizarre accident. “She tried to slow the machine down. I thought maybe she just missed a step,” said Marissa. “She tried to slow the machine down. I thought maybe she just missed a step. She just collapsed, [and] hit her head on the machine,” Woods said.
Reports read that Delrie had been knocked unconscious and that Marissa screamed for help asking fellow gym occupants if they knew CPR.
“I was screaming, you know, ‘Anybody, just please help! Anybody know how to do CPR?”
Marissa tells KIRO-7 News, that gym attendees immediately stepped in to help and that no employees helped them. “I think they were in shock.”
Delrie was ultimately rushed to a local hospital, unfortunately the 36 year old couldn’t be saved.
Delrie’s legacy’s shall be continued by her four children who she is said to have supported by working two jobs.
Marissa says her sister worked hard to take care of her children. “A mother first. Always everything she did was for kids,” she told the outlet. “She worked so hard for kids.”
It has been stated that Delrie choose to save others prior to her passing in opting to be an organ donor.
According to an established GoFundMe campaign her heart, lungs, kidneys and liver were donated to patients in need. “Five people, literally like right now! She’s saving lives. How big can your heart be to still be saving lives?” Woods said. “Just think, somebody’s walking around … with her big heart. They don’t even know what heart they’re about to get.”
It has been stated that the GoFundMe was started on behalf of Delrie’s children, “to help provide financial support for her children: Delaino, Rickey, Ric’Kae and Delaiah and to ensure they are taken care of for their futures.”
We send our deepest condolences to the family.
