Father Of Musical Legend Selena, Takes Legal Action Against Cruise Company Following Copy Infringement Claims!

Cousins! Father of legendary songstress Selena Quintanilla, Abraham Quintanilla has issued a lawsuit against a cruise ship company upon claims of copyright infringement following a tribute day cruise on behalf of the singer’s legacy!

According to court records obtained by TMZ, Abraham has taken legal action against Catalina Classic Cruises over its Cumbia Cruise L.A. trips for their marketing surrounding “Tributo a Selena.”

He claims that the company are repeat offenders that have used his daughter’s name and music to promote their trips on numerous occasions with last year’s event being named, “Cumbia Cruise Homenaje a Selena y La Sonor Dinamita por Maritza y Su Sonora.”

Abraham makes it clear that he is still in control of Selena’s trademarks, voice, name, signature, and likeliness to any merch, advertisement, and so forth. He declares that he never gave the company permission to use Selena’s legacy at any degree.

Sources state that the 84-year-old is seeking to block the company from benefiting off of Selena’s name any further and to have them forward any profit they made off her tribute cruises immediately.
