Cousins! Rick Ross is lending a much-needed helping hand to a Fayette County clinic by dishing out funds in saving them from foreclosure!
Ross appeared in person to deliver a donation of $30K by check on Monday, June 19th to the Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic and their owners directly. As a neighbor of the Georgia area, he says once he had gotten word that the clinic was facing foreclosure he felt obligated to step in.
“A clinic like this means a lot to me. I lost my father at an early age and I felt like one of the reasons I lost him so early is because of his lack of healthcare,” said Ross.
According to reports from WBSTV, Fayette C.A.R.E. provides free care to people 18 and older within the Fayette County area. Unfortunately, the facility was up against the possibility of being forcefully shut down because they were unable to secure proper funding.
“Thank you very much for your donation of the $30,179,” said Geneva Weaver, Executive Director of Fayette C.A.R.E. Clinic to the rapper.
The clinic plays a major role within the community, especially for folks that can’t afford health insurance within underserved neighborhoods.
Fayette C.A.R.E allows residents the ability to receive medical care and obtain medication.
“The patients that come to this clinic, all of them, their income level is 200% below the poverty level. The national poverty level,” said Weaver.
