The father of former Miss USA winner Cheslie Kryst has officially spoken out following the tragic passing of his daughter!

Father to the young beauty Queen Rodney Kryst, 62 says that his daughter was pure and didn’t use drugs or alcohol and that the result of her death was likely due to depression.

“She was pure as can be, she didn’t take any kind of drugs or prescription medication. She never had any kind of substance abuse problem,” said Rodney to the New York Post.

I think it had a lot to do with family dysfunction, but it will be awhile before we can talk more. She was sad.”

Sources confirm that Rodney and Cheslie’s mom split up when she was a young girl and that they had four children together. The news correspondent always spoke very highly of both her parents in showing her love and respect for each of them on social media and on air.

As we previously reported Cheslie passed after she fell from her high rise apartment building in NYC early Sunday morning on January 30th.

Both officers and paramedics responded to the alert, but sadly Cheslie was declared dead at the scene. She was last seen on the 29th floor of the building where investigators state she jumped from noting that she actually lived on the 9th floor.

Cheslie posted on Instagram just a few hours before the tragic incident, a photo of herself with a caption that read,” May this day bring you rest and peace ❤️”

Sources confirm that she left a note that declared she wanted to leave everything to her mother. Cheslie has won top honors at the Miss USA pageant a few years ago as Miss North Carolina. She was also an attorney. Soon after winking the pageant she landed a job as a worked a news – entertainment correspondent for Extra.

Her mother April Simpkins says that she recently learned that her daughter suffered from suffered from high functioning depression.
