Cousins! As the writer’s strike continues, a long list of films and television series have begun to undergo suspension within production! ‘P-Valley’ creator Katori Hall has announced that she is standing in support of the strike and has declared that production for season will be on pause until a fare deal is reached!
As rumors circulated throughout social media of the series suspended production for the highly anticipated upcoming season, Katori took to Twitter to say, “Despite rumors, due to the #WGA #WritersStrike filming on #PValley has been postponed.”
“Like many of my fellow showrunners, I feel as though my writing & producing duties are inextricably linked. We will not be filming until a fair deal is reached. #WGAStrong”
Katori continued in saying, “ l am also a member of the #DGA, whose #AMPTP contract begins negotiations TODAY. Overlapping issues abound and we shall see how these stories end. As a writer I strike with a sense of radical dignity -that our work must be valued for the magic it is. #WGAStrong #WritersStrike
‘P-Valley’ was renewed for a third season in 2022 for a total of 10 episodes.
As we previously reported the labor Union of Writer’s Guild of America which represents over 1,000 entertainment writers ranging from film, television, online media and more went on strike earlier this week. According to PEOPLE, the deadline for a new contract exceeded as of May 1st. Due to a series of failed negotiations writers decided to go on strike for the first time in over 15 years.
