Cousins!

Please join us in sending love and support to Normani and her mother Andrea Hamilton as she battles breast cancer.

In an interview with Zach Sang following the release of her newest single Wild Side , Normani spoke about the difficulties she faced within her personal life prior to releasing music after nearly two years.

Normani spoke upon her mother being diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic and how she wanted her daughter to fulfill her purpose no matter the circumstances.

According to USA Today Andrea is a 19 year Breast Cancer survivor.

She revealed back in October 2020 on Instagram that the cancer had returned in a post that read,  “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I did it once and I’ll do it again!”

In an interview with Paper Magazine, Normani says that her mother was originally diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only 5 years old. “

“I remember that moment like it was yesterday. I came home from school and I didn’t recognize my mom. At the time I was very young. It’s hard for anyone to be able to comprehend that one of their loved ones is that ill and could possibly not be with them anymore, but being a five year old trying to understand that was even more difficult,” says Normani.

”It hurt me to know that it hurt her. I remember she started crying after, and as a woman there’s insecurity in losing your hair. I don’t know what that’s like, but I know my mom was very strong during that time and my dad was so supportive. That’s important for any woman that’s going through the same experience, to have a support system of people around you who are reminding you that you’re still beautiful.”

We keep both Andrea and Normani in our prayers!
