In honor of the late rapper DMX’s legacy a special tribute during this year’s BET Awards was held featuring numerous hip hop elites!

Long time friend and producer Swizz Beatz was joined by Busta Rhymes , The Lox , Method Man , Griselda and a special appearance by actor Michael K. Williams .

Together the fellas performed and celebrated X’s classic hit singles such as Slipping, Party Up, What’s My Name?, Where the Hood at?, X Gon Give It To Ya, Get at Me Dog and the Ruff Ryders Anthem.

The heartfelt tribute ended with a voiceover of X alongside a violinist with a powerful prayer that had all audience goers bow their heads in respect.

Reports that X’s fiancée, ex wife and children were present for the heartfelt and emotional tribute as well.
