Iconic singer and song writer Mary J. Blidge is sharing a part of her world with fans soon as Prim eStudios has officially released the trailer to her upcoming documentary “My Life”

The documentary is set to explore the multi Grammy award winning singer’s journey within creating her 1994 album ‘My Life’

Within the trailer Mary reveals that she struggled with depression and didn’t want to live.

“‘My Life’ is probably my darkest album at one of the darkest times I’ve had.”

“Most of the time I was just depressed and didn’t want to live. I had it all inside and I was able to sing it and write it, and I didn’t know that so many people felt the same way.”

She revealed that singing and writing helped her to cope.

“The only thing, I think, that kept us guided was the music. It just saved you. In the neighborhood we lived in, it’s like prison. There was a lot wrong, and it was a lot. I needed to get out. That’s why I had that pen.”

According to Page Six, Alicia Keys, Taraji P. Henson and Sean “Diddy” Combs will all appear within the documentary.

Reports read that Diddy was co-executive producer for the documentary, and Quincy Jones served as the executive music producer.
