Two men are in police custody at this time after being captured on surveillance footage releasing a total of 1,000 cockroaches into a restaurant for what is being deemed an unpaid debt!
The incident took place Monday on May 3rd with two men dressed in all black, throwing the cockroaches and running out of the Taipei, Taiwan restaurant reports The Daily Mail.
Reports read that officials are currently investigating the ordeal as they believe it was carried out by two criminal gang members.
However it has been indicated that the store’s owner G House Tapei had a prior financial dispute with the unidentified organization for an unpaid debt.
Sources have confirmed that Taipei Police Commissioner Chen Jia-chang held a press conference on Tuesday, May 4th stating that the act has been classified as a form of violence and that those behind it should be punished.
He also states that the incident more than likely took place because the store owner owed the group of men money and that the cockroaches were fairly small and used for feeding fish.
Though only two men have been seen on camera unleashing the roaches it has been said that two additional men and a woman were apart of the incident.
It has been indicated that the restaurant will be sterilized before reopening.
