Congratulations are in order for the regular smegular girl from the Bronx Cardi B as her hit single Bodak Yellow officially earned a certified RIAA diamond plaque!

Monday afternoon Cardi took to social media to share the groundbreaking news in a post of her journey throughout music from when she first released the hit single to where she’s at now as an artist.

She also shared how the plaque was revealed to her within a surprise as she was in the midst of preparing for the Grammy’s on Sunday and was told that record label executives from Atlantic wanted to see her, “I know I’ve been rehearsing all day today, I’m really stressed out, my body’s aching. At rehersal, they said to me, ‘Yo, you gotta meet up with Atlantic execs.’

She continues, “I’m like, ‘Yo I’m fucking tired like I don’t wanna talk about no Grammys, I don’t wanna talk about no album, I’m just tired.”

According to Complex Bodak Yellow earned diamond status certification after going 10 times platinum and selling over 10 million units for the first time in RIAA history by a female rapper.

“I just wanna say thank you guys so much because without you guys, this wouldn’t have happened,” Cardi says in a tweet thanking her fans.

Cardi also received a platinum plaque for her hit single “WAP” going 5X platinum.

“This really made my day and really uplifted me for this crazy performance. I know you guys are gonna be really happy.”
