The highly anticipated Verzuz battle featuring R&B elites Ashanti and Keyshia Cole finally went down on Thursday night!
After nearly two months of rescheduling and postponing due to measures out of either artist’s control, the ladies sat down one on one and delivered an absolutely unforgettable night.
However, there were a few undeniable kinks that the folks of social media clearly weren’t here for as they voiced their opinions on Keyshia’s lateness and indescribable vibe.

In an early morning interview with Houston, Texas 97.9 radio show hosts of “ The Box” , Keyshia’s Dj HiC explained the background story of the Verzuz battle and why she was late.
He clarified that Keyshia was actually on time and that technical difficulties caused the show to be delayed.

“In Keyshia’s defense I can truly say that she didn’t want to come out because her screen was blurry. On her end her screen was blurry… She was there on time, I was there, I saw everything, she was there. But she didn’t want to come out because the screen was blurry, and stuff wasn’t right. We couldn’t hear they side, so it was a lot of technical stuff going on in there you know.”
He continues, “Because she’s a perfectionist and when stuff don’t go the right way, it’s downhill from there. I can say that, and that’s just the truth. She was already upset about it being pushed back like it was anyway, but it’s COVID, you know?”
HiC also revealed that Verzuz rescheduling postponing dates caused Keyshia’s release for her latest record to be impacted heavily. .

“And then you know so the build up, it made her have to push her record back, so that was big on the brain. It just threw he energy off,” stated HiC.
“I did the best I could to try to bring her back, but by that time she was already upset you know. ‘My stuff blurry, it ain’t right.’”
