Philadelphia is currently within an uproar following an incident captured on cellphone camera of police officials shooting a man to death in front of his mother!

The incident took place Monday evening around 245PM EST within the area of 61st and Locust area, reports CBS News.

Sources have confirmed that Walter Wallace Jr, 27 was armed with a knife as he was approached by two unidentified officers.

Reports read that Philadelphia Police Sgt. Eric Gripp has come forward to state, “Responding officers witnessed a male on the block. Immediately they noticed he had a knife in his possession and he was brandishing it, and waiving it erratically.”

“Upon being struck the male immediately dropped the knife and was scooped up by one of the discharging officers who took him into his police car, drove him over to Presbyterian Hospital where unfortunately he succumbed to his injuries,” Sgt. Gripp stated.

The fatal shooting is currently being investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department.
