Legendary actress and icon #CicelyTyson is set to debut her life’s work story in 2021!

“ Just As I Am” in collaboration with Oprah Magazine’s founding editor Michelle Burford is set for official release on January. 26th, 2021 reports Essence.

“At 95, I’m only beginning to fully understand my identity,” states Tyson in a forwarded statement. “The accolades, the lights, the glamour and glitter—they’re all just ornaments on a tree. It is only a tree’s roots, its origins beneath the soil, that can reveal its entire story.”

She continues, “Every one of my experiences on the public stage has been rooted in my upbringing, those years spent at my mother’s elbow and in the pews of my church. That was my world. And that foundation, that core, led me to a lifetime of growth—a wondrous journey that has made me who I am,” .

Source have confirmed that the memoir will provide and in-depth look into her career as an actress and dancer. Also insight to some of her friendships with historic actors Sidney Portier, Harry Belafonte, Ossie and Ruby Davis, Richard Pryor , James Earl Jones, Maya Angelou, Nelson and Winnie Mandela, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones and more.

It has been indicated that the memoir will dive deep into her marriage to Miles Davis and friendships/ modern day career strides working alongside with Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington, Ava DuVernay, Viola Davis, Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey and Shonda Rhimes.
