The acting Police Chief in charge Robert Schroeder has stated within a Monday news conference that days off and vacation requests for all Louisville Metro Police Department officials have been canceled until further notice, reports the NY Post.
Sources have confirmed that officials are awaiting state Attorney General Daniel Cameron highly anticipated announcement upon whether the officers responsible for Taylor’s death will be arrested and charged or not.
“To ensure we have the appropriate level of staffing to provide for public safety services and our policing functions, effective immediately the LMPD will operate under the emergency staffing and reporting guidelines as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Response Plan, and collective bargaining agreements until further notice,” reads a statement forwarded by Schroeder.
It has been indicated that windows of the federal courthouse have been boarded and that barriers have been placed around the downtown stage.
