The officer behind the direct and horrific murder of #Minneapolis resident #GeorgeFloyd has officially been arrested!
According to TMZ, Chauvin is the only officer that has been arrested so far within connection to Floyd’s death. Though the other three officers who watched as Chauvin killed Floyd were fired along with him, they are still free at the moment.
It has been stated by numerous outlets that Chauvin is facing charges of third degree murder and manslaughter.
Numerous residents were shocked and upset after viewing Thursday’s press conference where Hennepin County D.A. Mike Freeman stated that, “There is other evidence that does not warrant a criminal charge,” when ultimately asked why there were no charges pressed against any of the officer despite the haunting viral videos of the incident.
Reports read that the Floyd’s family attorney #BenCrump responded to Freeman’s notion by reaching out directly to Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to handle the case.
Sources have confirmed that even though Freeman hinted at the possibility of charges being pressed he has yet to provide
accompanying details.
He directly requests for the public to practice peace and patience at this time. However that seems outright unfair when it was direct violence and madness that killed an unarmed man with excessive and unethical force.
