A Dallas, #Texas resident previously diagnosed with #COVID-19 and placed on life support for three weeks has recently recovered from the deadly virus, while urging the public to follow social distancing orders and regulations!
After undergoing a medically induced coma, Christopher Marshall, 37 has come forward with details of his life altering experience in hopes of helping someone avoid the pain and suffering he endured.
According to WBNS, Marshall had no clue that he had contracted the disease, believing in the month of March that he solely had a bad case of allergies. Sources have confirmed that as time went on his symptoms had worsen and he was informed that he had pneumonia in both lungs. He had originally tested for strep throat and the flu but not COVID-19.
It has been indicated that on March 26th Marshall’s wife urged him to go to the emergency room but he declined due to fear of expenses. It wasn’t long before he tested positive of the virus. Physicians then informed him that his body wasn’t getting enough oxygen and that he would ultimately have to be intubated.
“On the outside I was calm but on the inside, I was very fearful because I’ve never been put to sleep like that before,” he stated.”
Marshall was then given hydroxychloroquine which his body rejected and ultimately made him worst. “That medicine even though they are advocating it as the miracle drug that is not the miracle drug,” Marshall states.
He continues,“From a person who almost died, I think there needs to be more facts behind using certain drugs,” while noting more testing needs to be done for Coronavirus treatment.
After Marshall’s diabetes was triggered by the treatment he was then transferred from Methodist Hospital to Medical City in Plano. He was issued an aggressive treatment of ECMO which Marshall states saved his life, along with pain medicine of Fentanyl.
“It’s a very aggressive treatment they were doing because it’s like the last resort. If the ECMO treatment had not worked I would not be here right now.”
After three weeks of being in a coma, Marshall has been stated to have woken up on his birthday of March 31st and was discharged from the hospital on April 16th.
Marshall reveals that he hadn’t originally followed proper safety regulations. That he had rode public transportation often without gloves or a mask. His overall message for others at this time is to, “Please stay home, stay home, stay home. This is real serious.”
