AMC Movie Theater To Remain Closed Until Summer Of 2020!

#Cousins,

Despite #Georgia state Governor #BrianKemp’s recently forwarded plan to reopen movie theaters as soon as Monday morning; AMC Theaters has come forward to state that they will not reopen anytime soon!

According to Vanity Fair, AMC has released an official statement indicating that their company’s venues will remain closed until the summer premier of major films such as “Tenet” and Disney’s “ Mulan”.

“AMC is currently working through every detail required to successfully showcase these exciting new releases in an environment that’s safe and welcoming for moviegoers, and we will share those details as we get closer to the dates when our theaters will reopen.”

Earlier this week the National Organization of Theatre Owners released an official statement indicating that they will not reopen for quite sometime either. “While some states and localities are beginning to authorize the opening of movie theaters under certain conditions, the movie theater industry is also a national one,” the organization said then. “Until the majority of markets in the U.S. are open, and major markets in particular, new wide release movies are unlikely to be available. As a result, some theaters in some areas that are authorized to open may be able economically to reopen with repertory product. However, many theaters will not be able to feasibly open.”

Though there are still present cases of COVID-19, Governor Brian Kemp has stuck to his recent decision to reopen the state of Georgia beginning with small businesses.
