Actress , natural hair enthusiast and fashion Gawd #TraceeEllisRoss is set to take her talents to the big screen staring as a legendary Pop Star in an upcoming film, The High Note!
According to Deadline , Tracee is set to tackle the roll of a musical middle age icon eager to release a new album, despite her manager’s advice to stay stagnant in Vegas. Within her journey as an artist she becomes friends and partners with her soft spoken overlooked and overworked assistant played by Dakota Johnson.
Sources have confirmed that the film is also set to star Kelvin Harrison Jr., Ice Cube, Zoe Chao, Eddie Izzard, Bill Pullman and Diplo. Flora Nora has been named the film’s creator, Nisha Ganatra as the official director.
Deadline reports : The synopsis: Set in the dazzling world of the LA music scene comes the story of Grace Davis (Ellis Ross), a superstar whose talent, and ego, have reached unbelievable heights. Maggie (Johnson) is Grace’s overworked personal assistant who’s stuck running errands, but still aspires to her childhood dream of becoming a music producer. When Grace’s manager (Ice Cube) presents her with a choice that could alter the course of her career, Maggie and Grace come up with a plan that could change their lives forever.
The High Note is set to hit theaters every where on May 8th, 2020!
