#Cousins, a verdict has finally been reached within the critically acclaimed #HarveyWeinstein New York City trial!
According to TMZ Weinstein has been found guilty on 2 out of the 5 charges forwarded within in #NYC. Sources have confirmed that he was found not guilty on charges that could’ve potentially landed him in prison for the remainder of his life.
Reports read that Weinstein was found guilty by jurors on charges of 1st-degree criminal sexual act and 3rd-degree rape. It has been indicated that he can receive 25 years in prison for the sexual act. crime. It has been highlighted that jurors found him not guilty of 2 counts of predatory sexual charges. Weinstein has also been found not guilty of 1st degree rape.
The official jury consisted of 7 men and 5 women that took a total of 5 days to reach an official verdict. Weinstein initially pleaded not guilty to all 5 of the felony related charges of sexual misconduct. Charges were forwarded by both production assistant Miriam Haley and former actress Jessica Mann.
Mann testified under oath directly stating that Weinstein had forced himself and raped her on numerous occasions since the first time they met. She also implemented that he had manipulated her for years. Weinstein’s defense team argued that each time time the pair had sex it was 100% consensual and that even after the alleged incident occurred the pair continued to have sex freely.. He states that all of the claims brought against him were untrue solely because each sexual act was consensual.
Weinstein’s legal team feels that their client was treated unfair; also noting that they are going to file an appeal within a higher court for the recently issued verdict.
Though Weinstein was supposed to be sent immediately to Rikers Island he was instead rushed to Bellvue Hospital for heart complications following the verdict.
