Word on the street is Hip hop legend and all around business man #JayZ has paired up with his label of Roc Nation to ink a major deal with the NFL.
#ComplexMagazine reports that Jay has been named the franchise’s live entertainment strategist. His sole duties will consist of scouting high level talent acts to perform during half time at the Super Bowl. Roc Nation will also weight in on the social initiative of the franchise.
This partnership comes as a surprise to many; Jay has been a long time supporter of the NFL boycott and has also been very public with his choice to stand behind #ColinKaepernick . Artists and fans from all over the country have come together to completely block out the franchise as a whole. Since then tv ratings have dropped at a noticeable rate, however this new role will allow Jay the hands on approach to social advocacy.
The “Inspire Change” campaign will consist of : “donating money to groups fighting for criminal justice reform, opportunities in economically challenged areas and better relations between the police and local communities, states Time magazine.
“The NFL has a great platform, and it has to be all-inclusive, they were willing to do some things, to make some changes, that we can do some good,” states Jay Z.
