Estimated read time 1 min read

There’s finally a bit of light in this difficult moment!

Samuel Monroe Jr., known for his roles in Menace II Society and The Players Club, is showing encouraging signs of recovery after recent reports revealed he had been placed on life support.

After weeks of hospitalization where he was diagnosed with MRSA pneumonia and meningitis, his family had been bracing for the worst. But now, his wife Shawna Stewart shares with TMZ that doctors are seeing real progress, his kidneys have improved enough to stop dialysis, and he’s no longer relying on blood pressure medication.

In another major step forward, Samuel was able to breathe on his own for four hours despite being on a ventilator, and he’s alert, responding to questions by moving his head.

While this is a hopeful update, he’s not fully in the clear just yet. His medical team is still working to manage excess fluid buildup, and additional procedures are being put in place to support his recovery.

Noir Nation, continue to keep Samuel and his loved ones lifted during this time.
