A jury has hit Bill Cosby with a $19.25 million verdict after Donna Motsinger accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting her in 1972.

Jurors found Cosby liable for sexual assault and sexual battery, awarding Motsinger $17.5 million for past mental suffering and $1.75 million for future suffering.

According to reports from Rolling Stone, the jury also ruled Cosby acted with “malice, oppression, or fraud,” leaving the possibility for punitive damages open.

Donna issued claims that Cosby allegedly gave her a pill that she believed was aspirin. However she says immediately after taking the pill she felt thrown off and said she woke up the next day in her bed with only her underwear on.

Obtained evidence in the case derives from Cosby’s previous deposition, where he admitted to obtaining Quaaludes during a card game to give to women to coerce them into having sex with him.

Cosby revealed under oath that he secured a prescription for Quaaludes from a gynecologist during a poker game and that he proceeded to refill the same prescription a total of seven times, reports TMZ.

He also admitted that he never took a single pill himself.

The verdict marks another major chapter in Cosby’s decades-long legal saga. The defamed comedian and actor served nearly three years in prison for aggravated indecent assault.

However, Cosby was later released in 2021 after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction following a previous agreement from a prosecutor promising to not charge him.
