A California mother is speaking out and demanding accountability after disturbing surveillance footage revealed her young daughter was assaulted by a teacher at Destiny Development Daycare in Inglewood!
The incident, which has since sparked outrage across social media, shows a teacher identified as Ms. Emily removing her shoe and throwing it across the room, striking the child.
According to the mother, her daughter, Beautyful, came home on Friday, January 16, 2026, stating that she had been hit in the ear with a shoe by her teacher. When questioned again later, the child repeated the same account, prompting the mother to alert the daycare’s director days later.
The mother claims that when she reported the incident to the director, Miss Danielle, on Tuesday, January 20, she was told that staff had documented the child’s distress as the result of falling off her cot—not being struck. However, on February 2, the mother says she received video footage that confirmed her daughter’s story and directly contradicted the center’s initial explanation. Following an internal investigation, Ms. Emily was reportedly terminated from her position.
While the accused teacher was fired, the mother says two other teachers who allegedly witnessed the incident and failed to report it—despite being mandated reporters—were only suspended without pay and later allowed to return to work. She also alleges this may not have been the first incident, claiming her daughter has said she was previously hit by the same teacher. Now, the mother is calling for full accountability and transparency, questioning why the incident wasn’t immediately reported and whether criminal charges will be filed. As of now, it remains unclear if Ms. Emily will face any legal consequences.
