What Happened
On November 20, 2025, Robert Garaza, who worked as a cybersecurity analyst at Campbell’s, filed a complaint alleging retaliation and discrimination. Robert says trouble started after he reported concerns about comments made by Campbell’s VP and Chief Information Security Officer, Martin Bally.
What was supposed to be a routine salary meeting in late 2024 quickly turned into an hour-long session that left Robert feeling sick to his stomach.
The Allegations
According to the complaint, Martin Bally was recorded mocking Campbell’s products, the company’s customers, and even Indian employees. He reportedly called Campbell’s foods “highly processed” and “for poor people,” and made a bizarre remark about “bioengineered meat,” saying, “I don’t want to eat a piece of chicken that came from a 3-D printer.”
Robert says he felt the comments were not only offensive but also part of a larger pattern of discriminatory behavior.
Reporting the Issue Backfired
Robert brought the recording to his supervisor, JD Aupperle, in January 2025 to report what happened. Instead of getting support or seeing any investigation take place, Robert says he was fired just 20 days later.
Now, he’s taking Campbell’s to court, claiming the company didn’t protect him for speaking up about a senior executive’s behavior.
