Noir Nation, new updates have surfaced following the brutal attack against a Southside Chicago mother and her children at the hands of a group of kids!

According to community organizers close to the situation, Corshawnda and her children have now been moved to a safe, undisclosed location as they work to recover physically and emotionally. Her children will be enrolled in a new school immediately and are being connected with therapy services to help them process the trauma they endured.

📹 Viral Video Sparks Outrage

Within a viral video that has been sweeping the internet this week with shares and comments of disappointment , Corshawnda and her kids can be seen being chased, surrounded, and violently attacked by a group of children in the South Deering neighborhood. At one point, Corshawnda is hit in the face, dragged across the ground while trying to shield her 9-year-old son. Her daughter is pulled by her hair. Her son is slammed onto the pavement.

While appearing in a new interview the 33 year old expressed the trauma her family has been forced to face, including her children suffering from nightmares and the constant shame that she feels in being a mother unable to protect her kids.“I felt helpless, because I was down on the ground, and he was down on the ground, and he’s looking at me, screaming, like, ‘Mommy, please help me. Help me.’ I couldn’t get up myself. I couldn’t do nothing”

Corshawnda recalled walking to the store alongside her children to the store when she was approached by a group of minors ranging from fifth to eighth grade following them and poking fun at her son. “Before I could even react, they started attacking us – hitting me and my son over and over. I tried to shield him, but there were too many of them, and all I could think about was getting him out of there safely,” wrote on her GoFundMe.

She continued: “Both of us were rushed to the hospital afterward, and they told us we were in serious condition. What hurts even more is knowing this all started from bullying my son has been dealing with at school. I never imagined it would escalate to something like this, and as a mother, it’s terrifying to see your child harmed like that. I just want him to feel safe going to school and walking in his own neighborhood. Please send whatever is on your heart.”

🏫 Years of Bullying Ignored

This wasn’t an attack at random, Corshawnda has shared that her son had been bullied for over two years at Orville Bright Elementary School. She says she reached out to school staff multiple times for help but her concerns were ignored or dismissed. Corshawnda expressed that while she suffers from sickle cell disease, which affects her mobility and speech, she was mocked by other students — and her son became a target because of it. Another mother has since come forward saying the same group has terrorized her family as well.

Coming Together

Members of the community hit the streets, coming together in support Corshawnda and her family in response to the viral video. The rally happened outside Orville T. Bright Elementary, where parents and neighbors demanded answers on why repeated bullying reports were ignored — and what CPS plans to do next.

⚖️ Corshawnda Is Fighting Back

Now, Corshawnda is making sure accountability follows. She is pressing charges against the parents of the kids involved in the attack and is exploring legal action against the school for allegedly ignoring her repeated warnings. A GoFundMe has also been launched to help the family through the holidays as they navigate relocation, therapy, and rebuilding their sense of safety.
