What looked like a major power move in the heart of NYC just hit a wall. The proposed Times Square casino, backed by Jay-Z and Caesars Entertainment, was voted down by the city’s Community Advisory Committee. Four out of six members rejected the plan, leaving the high-profile project on pause.

Committee members flagged zoning issues and expressed worries about how the casino could impact the neighborhood. Residents and local leaders raised concerns about traffic, safety, and the area’s overall vibe. Even with celebrity clout and corporate backing, the community’s voice proved louder.
