An NYC woman has been left shooketh after discovering an extra and unwanted topping in her salad!
Hannah Rasbach spoke with ABC News as she recalled the stomach-turning moment she noticed a dead mouse in her salad. Sources state that the salad was a mixture of lettuce, sauteed beef, and salmon. However, it wasn’t until she was almost done that she noticed the deceased rodent.
Hannah says that when she told an employee of her findings she was asked where she personally thinks it came from. ”She asked if I thought it had come from the spring mix….obviously, I’m not sure where it came from.”
The 27-year-old says she had ordered the salad to go from a restaurant from Ongi located on West 37th Street on Monday (May 5th).
“When I tried to cut it, it didn’t feel right, it felt like a fatty piece of meat or something, yeah sorry…. I took a better look and I saw the tail and eyes,” said Hannah.
The owner, Ray Park tells ABC that he has since reviewed footage from the establishment of Hannah’s salad being made. He insists that the deceased rodent didn’t come from his business.
“I was thinking, how can it be happening here, because we have a high standard to run every single day here,” said Ray. He says that their kitchen is clen and that his staff follows strict protocol.
Ray also explained that there has never been any detection of mice droppings and that he’s keeping the salad as evidence. “If I use my finger, it’s this big including the tail. It’s not small.”
Hannah has since filed a complaint with 311 and has been placed on antibiotics after rushing to the doctor. She says she couldn’t imagine eating out ever again. “We had no idea how this animal died, it could have been rat poison, it could have been disease, any number of things.”
She adds, “I would like them to be shut down or investigated.”
