Toni Braxton and Birdman are currently the topic of discussion online following reports that the two secretly exchanged vows nearly a year ago and seemingly called backsides a few short weeks after!
According to exclusive reports from TMZ, Toni and Birdman said “I do” in a private ceremony on August 8th, 2024. Though there have been many reports of the on-again-off-again couple getting hitched in the past——the outlet confirms news of their short-lived marital bliss as the iconic singer cited their wedding date in divorce documents filed just two weeks afterward.
Within Toni’s filing, she noted that the two separated two days after their ceremony on August 10th with court documents reading their marriage was, “irretrievably broken.” However, the petition was dismissed at the top of 2025 in January with both Toni and Birdman’s signatures present.
The Cash Money rapper originally proposed to Toni seven years ago back in February of 2018 after purchasing an engagement ring with a hefty million-dollar price tag. However, the couple quietly split the following year as Toni denied their relationship.
Sources state that the couple were friends for over a decade before they initially began dating in 2016.
“In 2016, I was doing a little tour, just testing the market [to see] how far my endurance could go—and I got ill just before we went out,” Tonia said in a 2019 interview with People. “Every day I had a show, he came. Every night, he would ask me, ‘Are you okay? Are you good?’ I said, ‘Oh my God, he’s such a great guy!'”
Neither Toni nor Birdman publicly announced news of their marriage at the time as the couple is known for being notoriously private.
