There’s been a major turn in Wendy Williams guardianship battle following news that celebrity attorney Joe Tacopina has been enlisted to represent her!
Joe dropped the bombshell exclusively Thursday (April 3rd) in an interview with NewsNation’s Banfield. “Yes, I am representing her, I’m her personal attorney right now.”
He adds, “I will be entering the case one way or another, but it’s a convoluted process…the last thing they want to do is see my face in that courtroom.”
Back in March Joe spoke on Wendy’s conservatorship issues as he referred to it as a” true injustice.” He added. “Murderers have more freedom than Wendy.”
Joe has racked up an impressive list of celebrity and high profile clients throughout his career from Swizz Beatz, Ne-Yo, Meek Mill, Michael Jackson, Donald Trump, YG and most recently A$AP Rocky.
As we previously reported the Harlem rapper had been facing two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. His case went viral as he faced over ten years in prison in an assault trial against his former friend A$AP Relli.
The legendary talk show host has been actively fighting got her freedom from her conservatorship overseen by court appointed legal Sabrina Morrisey since 2022.
According to Wendy’s healthcare advocate Ginalisa Monterroso, “decide where to live, how to spend her money or have a bank account. She can’t vote, marry or decide the doctors she’d like to use or what friends can visit her at the facility.”
Ginalisa added in her interview with PEOPLE, “She has to get special permission from Morrissey and sometimes even Judge Lisa A. Sokoloff, who is overseeing her affairs, to travel out of state.”
