Target Faces Major Loss In Foot Traffic After Cutting Ties With DEI Programs!

The folks of Target are feeling the consequences after deciding to part ways with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) programs as shoppers continue to boycott hundreds of locations!

According to reports from Fortune, for eight consecutive weeks Target has noticed a drop in foot traffic at various stores. Sources state within the week of March 17th visits dropped by 5.7% and 7.1% the week before in comparison to 2024 collected data.

Placer.ai reports that Target is currently facing a decline of over 6.2% in the last two months.

It has been determined that the retailer began to undergo a downward spiral after word spread of them cutting ties with DEI programs in late January. In response social media users engaged in major discourse sharing feelings of disappointment as the company has succeeded in providing support to social justice efforts and multicultural inclusion throughout the last few years.

According to trending reports members of the Black clergy coalition organized a boycott calling on shoppers to halt support of Target in response to their DEI rollback. Sources state that over 150,00 are currently participating in the cause, which is above their original goal of 100,000.

“We’ve got to tell corporate America that there’s a consequence for turning their back on diversity,” said Bishop Reginald T. Jackson. “So let us send the message that if corporate America can’t stand with us, we’re not going to stand with corporate America.”

The boycott is scheduled to end on Easter Sunday, with executives sharing that they are hopeful for a bump in foot traffic in response to their seasonal products.
