Klarna CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski is addressing criticism surrounding their super collaboration with DoorDash granting customers the opportunity to eat now and pay later!

The recently announced landmark deal began trending online Thursday (March 20th) as social media users commented on customers being locked into monthly installment plans to pay off $15 meals, reports Fortune.

Twitter (X) users also questioned the logic of offering funding solutions for takeout and fast food since it is considered a lower-priced item while accusing Klarna and DoorDash of trapping customers into fixed-rate financing schemes.

“By offering smarter, more flexible payment solutions for groceries, takeout, and retail essentials, we’re making convenience even more accessible for millions of Americans,” said David Sykes, Klarna’s chief commercial officer, during the announcement.

In response to online comments Sebastian wrote “Klarna offers many payment methods.” He adds, “DoorDash offers many products beyond food!

“I know we are most famous for pay in 4. But you can use a credit card at DoorDash as well,” Siemiatkowski said.
