Congratulations are in order for DeVonFranklin and his bae Maria Castillo as the couple are officially engaged!
According to PEOPLE, DeVon popped the question during an intimate getaway over the holidays in Hawaii within a photo shoot outside of the Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua hotel on December 27th, 2024.
“We went to Maui for vacation, I told her we were gonna do a photo shoot and during the photo shoot I surprised her with the proposal! It was truly a magical moment and I can’t wait to spend a magical life with Maria!”
“Finding Maria has been one of God’s greatest blessings in my life, so I wanted the proposal to be as special as our love,”DeVon told PEOPLE.
The couple gazed at the sunset while walking hand in hand along the beach in all white outfits during the shoot.
“You know, this whole time has really been an engagement photo shoot,” DeVon told Maria prior to him popping the question.
“I’m still in awe of how it all happened! It was such a beautiful surprise, and I can’t even put into words how happy I am!” the 26 year old told PEOPLE. “To know I’ll be spending the rest of my life with this incredible man is a dream come true. Here’s to forever with the love of my life!”
After sliding the custom engagement ring on her finger Maria is said to have jumped up and down before kissing DeVon and telling him, “You’re a beautiful human.” He then replied, “We’re beautiful together.”
While DeVon’s and Maria have only dated for one year, their union serves as his first public relationship since his 2022 divorce from Meagan Good after ten years of marriage.
