Russell Simmons has taken to social media to address the issues of health and wellness in the Black community while urging folks to make self care and better eating habits their top priority, following the tragic news of Irv Gotti’s passing!

The entrepreneur and record executive paid tribute to Irv alongside a photo of them together.

“Brothers and Sisters Please don’t let Irv Gotti go without acknowledging the tragedy of his death and of black men’s and women’s health in America. This talented , beautiful, happy, curious enthusiastic spirit has left his body way too soon I’m sure God will receive him with love and freedom. To the black men and women of america who still face this crisis,” wrote Russell on Instagram.

” The epidemic of chronic diseases and illnesses are a result of bad dieting and lack of self care.//FYI they are poisoning you much faster then your white counterparts. Thankfully there is a wave amongst you. You are three times more likely to be vegan than your white counterparts. You are much more likely to use natural remedies than the rest of America.”

He continued, “You are waking up. but not fast enough..those of you who are taking directions from great nutritionists like Dr Sebi, you’re walking away from, this group of chronic sicknesses…help your brothers and sisters to take the same route you are on…”

“rest in peace Irv you’re such a beautiful soul but gone to soon,’ Russell concluded.

As we previously reported prior to confirmed reports of Irv’s passing, Russell shared on Instagram reflected on a previous conversation he had concerning his health. According to iHeart, Irv says that he had encouraged Gotti to visit him in Bali to undergo testing and receive natural medical treatment, but he never went.
