Noir Nation; legal action has been taken against Mielle Organics as a customer accuses the company of false advertising products without warning of potential side effects!
According to circulating reports, a woman by the name of Georgina Gomes has filed a complaint with the U.S District Court for the Nothern District of Illinois on November 21st seeking damages from Mielle Organics as well as Procter & Gamble on behalf of herself and other customers.
The suit issues claims that the company’s products such as their Rosemary Mint Scalp & Strengthening Hair Oil do not work as intended.
Georgina states that the manufacturers of Mielle knew or should’ve known that incidents used in their products allegedly caused harm to consumers and that they inadequately communicated those risks to their customers.
Within the filed complaint Georgina explains that she purchased Mielle Organics Rosemary Mint Scalp & Strengthening Hair Oil in the state of Massachusetts for her own personal use. She says that she bought the product as it was advertised to strengthen users’ hair.
However Georgina claims that Mielle Hair Oil did not strengthen her hair but rather caused her hair to fall out.
“Defendants knew or should have known that the Product contained ingredients that would cause hair loss or carried a risk that the Product would cause hair loss, but continued to manufacture, distribute, and sell it nonetheless,” reads the forwarded complaint.
Georgina and others are currently requesting compensatory, statutory, and punitive damages, as well as restitution, equitable relief and injunctive relief.
As we previously reported Mielle Organics CEO Monique Rodriguez recently responses to the social media users accusing the company of changing their formula allegedly leading to excessive hair loss.
In a video shared on Instagram, Monique declared that the rumors originated from a TikTok user who was allegedly paid by a competitor.
“This creator was earning a commission to promote a competitor’s product while spreading misinformation about our products for their own personal gain. And unfortunately, some who joined in on those conversations seemed to have ulterior motives as well,” Monique shared.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, we tried to handle the situation quietly, but it has reached a point to where I feel it’s important to be transparent with you all.”
