International supermodel, Naomi Campbell is speaking out following reports that she has been allegedly pocketing funds from her charity organization over the last few years!
According to AP news, a Charity Commission inquiry discovered that Naomi’s ‘Fashion for Relief’ organization has improperly utilized funds for personal leisure such as luxury hotel stays, spa days, security, cigarettes as well as other unauthorized payments to one of her other charity organizations.
Sources state following a three-year investigation into ‘Fashion for Relief’ they’ve discovered “multiple instances of misconduct and/or mismanagement.” ”—-that only 8.5% of the charity’s overall expenditure went on charitable grants in a six-year period from 2016.”
Investigations team member Tim Hopkins, said in an issued statement “Trustees are legally required to make decisions that are in their charity’s best interests and to comply with their legal duties and responsibilities.”
He added, “Our inquiry has found that the trustees of this charity failed to do so, which has resulted in our action to disqualify them.”
In response, Naomi has denied all claims while noting that she wasn’t in charge of her of the charities funds. “I was not in control of my charity, I put the control in the hands of a legal employer. We are investigating to find out what and how, and everything I do and every penny I ever raised goes to charity.”
Naomi’s Fashion for Relief charity organization held fundraising events for multiple charities, however it has been stated that they failed to manage its partnership arrangements.
According to BBC News, Fashion for Relief was removed from the register of charities on 15 March 2024.
