Cousins! Nearly nine months after Katt Williams’s explosive interview on Club Shay Shay, fellow comedian Steve Harvey took the time out of his booked and busy schedule to address statements made regarding jabs at his longstanding career!
Katt issued claims in his January interview that Steve’s former signature hightop fade was a “man unit” and accused him of stealing Mark Curry’s sitcom idea and stand-up comedy routine.
“——now Steve has a sitcom where he is the principal, and he wears a suit. And then he gets this high-top fade, making all Black men think he got the best lineup in the business. And it’s a man unit.”
While headlining at Invest Fest in Atlanta, Georgia over the weekend Steve seemingly responded to Katt. He began by saying “You’ll never have a hater doing better than you,” while also claiming that Katt used the now viral interview to talk down on others because he’s jealous of their come-up.
“Don’t get off the wall to address some petty-a** boy who ain’t got sh*t going for himself,” said Steve. -stop your climb on up the wall so you can come down here and talk to his little punk a. Don’t do that, man! I stay away from it.”
But things didn’t end there as the 67-year-old made it clear that his hands still work. “Do I want to [confront them]? Yes, because I’m a human being. And I’m hood. I used to be a fighter, and I still got hands. They slow, but if you get up on me real close, I can still knock yo’ monkey a**out.”
According to Vibe Magazine, Steve had previously addressed Katt’s Club Shay Shay comments back in January during an airing of Family Feud.
“No, you ain’t gotta tell nobody nothing. All you got to do is be it. You don’t have to open your mouth,” Steve began as he then quoted Psalms 23:5. “‘He prepares a table in the presence of mine enemies’, he do it all the time. All my haters? I ain’t gotta say nothing to them. They got TV. They can cut they TV on seven days a week. All that hate? ‘Man, he on there.’”
