Cousins! There’s a new series on the block y’all! Leading actors Tichina Arnold and Terry Crews have announced that the beloved 2000s series ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ has been green-lit for an official animated reboot!
“We have been anxiously waiting to announce #EVERYBODY STILL HATES CHRIS- Animated series on @ComedyCentral – Yay,” shared Tichina and Terry on Instagram within a joint post.
“We are so excited about this new venture. For all of you lovely people that have rocked with us, you now get a chance to laugh at our animated characters. We appreciate your support. Let’s go!!!”
According to Variety, ‘Everybody Still Hates Chris’ will be narrated by executive producer Chris Rock. The comedian who previously narrated the original series is set to do the same in the new version.
“I’m very excited to introduce the world to another funny side of my childhood,” said Chris in a forwarded statement.
“Everybody Still Hates Chris” was originally announced in August 2022. Sources confirm that CBS Studios, Chris Rock Enterprises and 3 Arts Entertainment have joined forces to produce the thirty minute animated series.
The Comedy Central based series is scheduled to debut later this year.
‘Everybody Still Hates Chris’ will feature the voices of new cast members Tim Johnson Jr., Ozioma Akagha, Terrence Little Gardenhigh and Gunnar Sizemore.
“The new cast focuses on the younger characters — given the fact that the kids on the original live-action,” reads an excerpt.
“Everybody Hates Chris” are now all adults. Tim Johnson Jr. (“Saturdays”) will play young Chris, “a nerd who wants to be cool but he’s outshined by his younger brother, tortured by his little sister, and foiled by his cheapskate dad.”
