Cousins! DDG made sure his girlfriend Halle Bailey knew just how much she is valued and appreciated despite her lack of recognition at this year’s Naacp Image Awards!

The 23-year-old was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture at this year’s ceremony on Saturday, March 16th.

Though the Little Mermaid star went home empty-handed, DDG held a ceremony named the ‘Halle Awards’ with a special guest appearance made by their three-month-old son Halo.

In a series of videos shared on Snapchat, DDG presented numerous awards while also presenting Halle’s ‘Best Mother’ award.

“I want to give this award out for the best one ever, and this award goes to the one and only, Halle Bailey. For the best mother award, wooo!”

Halle burst in tears as she thanked DDG for the heartwarming ceremony. She can be heard saying that he was really sweet.

The actress and songstress had a monumental year in both music and film as she received a Grammy Award nomination for her first solo single Angel, made history as the first Black mermaid in Disney’s action-packed film The Little Mermaid, and also starred in The Color Purple as Nettie.

However, the first-time mom highlights the birth of her son as her greatest achievement thus far.

“I’ve learned from that spotlight over the past eight years. I’ve also, if I’m being honest, been burned by it, too, as we all have,” said Halle at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood event.

“It cannot compare to the biggest joy of my life. And that was becoming a mom to my perfect little angel Halo.”
