Cousins! Ashanti’s mother Tina Douglass also known went viral across multiple social media platforms as she corrected a panel host recently as she attempted to congratulate Ashanti and Nelly regarding their reported pregnancy!
“Congratulations, Ashanti’s having a baby. So congratulations grandma, said the host in a video clip shared to Instagram.
Tina responded by explaining that neither Ashanti or Nelly have announced anything at this time. “There’s been no announcement. It hasn’t come out yet until I hear it from Ashanti and Nelly.”
The host then apologized and said, “Oh I thought it was public. My bad, sorry.” Tina also known as the real Mommager fired back to say , “No, it is public. Don’t get it twisted, but it hasn’t been officially announced.”
As we previously reported, a unnamed source told US Weekly back in December that Ashanti was pregnant with Nelly’s child. Rumors that the couple had been expecting their first child together began to circulate online as the St.Louis playfully rubbed her belly while on stage during a performance.
Though the two have neither denied or confirmed the pregnancy rumors, fans have noticed Ashanti has been spotted wearing extremely loose clothing in the last few months compared to her usual bikini pics and performance costumes.
