Cousins! Megan Thee Stallion’s new single ‘Hiss’ is currently facing further controversy following reports that Megan Kanka’s family is fuming in response to the late victim’s murder case being referenced!

In case you are unfamiliar with the early 90’s tragedy, Megan was sadly murdered by her neighbor who at the time didn’t face any legal requirements to register as a sex predator. Following the young girl’s death, the order ‘Megan’s Law’ was established.

According to reports from TMZ, Megan’s father Richard Kanka has caught wind of the Houston, Texas reference in her song ‘Hiss’, which also kicked off the feud between her and Nicki Minaj. He has expressed to the outlet that he feels Megan’s explosive aim at Nicki while using his daughter’s case as a jab, was disrespectful.

Though Richard has acknowledged that Megan is pushing forth awareness of Megan’s Law, it doesn’t change his feelings about her bringing up his deceased daughter. Richard says that mentioning his Megan in, “such a graphic/offensive manner was highly offensive to the pain his daughter and family felt.” He has also admitted that he has not personally heard the song but instead read the lyrics and still feels the same.

Richard tells TMZ, that he is currently looking into possible action following Megan’s reference to seek advice on whether the mention crossed any legal lines. However, it has been noted that musicians and artists have flexible freedoms regarding wordplay and referencing of impactful moments in history.

Megan‘s Law was inspired after the young seven-year-old was brutally raped and murdered by a neighbor. Richard says that he was unaware of the song or reference until one of his children mentioned it to him.

Understandably, Richard says that he and his family are still dealing with Megan’s death decades later
