Cousins! Tyler Perry is gearing up for the return of his beloved character #Madea following news that he’s already kicked off shooting for a brand new film!
According to The Grio, ‘Madea’s Destination Wedding’ tells the story of Mabel Simmons’ granddaughter Tiffany, as she introduces her family to her new boyfriend, Zavier. Later within the film Tiffany, reveals she and Zavier are newly engaged and are set to have a destination wedding in the Bahamas.
Though the vacation was supposed to focus on Tiffany and Zavier’s new chapter, an unplanned turn of events put pressure on the couple’s future.
Reports read that Tyler and his crew began shooting in Atlanta earlier this month on January 15th and will carry on through this Friday at Tyler Perry Studios. Sources state they’ll resume filming in the Dominican Republic later this year.
Tyler inked a multi-year deal back in 2023 with Netflix to write, direct, and produce feature films with an open creative range as part of a multi-year, first-look contract. The deal includes the production of eight films over the next four years, reports The Grio.
Tyler has released a few fan favorite projects so far on streaming platform such as ‘A Madea Homecoming,”,“A Fall From Grace,” and “A Jazzman’s Blues.” He is scheduled to debut a World War II drama, titled “Six Triple Eight,” as well as an upcoming thriller, “Mea Culpa,” starring Kelly Rowland.
