Cousins, Dominique Fishback shares that the stories told on ‘Swarm’ will have to live on in peace as she confirms there will be no season two!
“But I’m OK with that,” said Dominique at the 33rd Annual Gotham Awards to PEOPLE. The leading actress says that the beloved project was always intended to be a limited series.
“I’m OK with that because I feel like the shock factor of the first season really got people — and sometimes when you try to go back in there, I don’t want it to be shock for shock value.”
Her performance as Dre within the Prime Video limited series helped her earn an outstanding performance in a new TV series nomination at the Gotham Awards.
“You want it to really to end on a high,” said the 32 year old.
‘Swarm’ tells the story of a young woman whose life was altered and consumed by her obsession with a Beyoncé like pop star. The fictional series is said to be loosely based on circulated notions on behalf of the Beyhive.
Despite numerous references, Beyonce is said to had no involvement in the series.
The series was directed by Donald Glover starring Dominique with guest appearances by Chloe Bailey, Damson Idris, Paris Jackson, and Billie Eilish.
“Honestly, I really gave everything that I had to this role, to this show,” said Dominique to PEOPLE. “On days where most of the time somebody would get a break, I was there all the time and I really put everything that I had into it. Towards the middle of the shoot, it kept going like a moving train. It didn’t stop.”
Dominique said she would do it again regardless of any award nomination.
