Cousins! The Osundario brothers aren’t at all moved by recent news of Jussie Smollett checking himself into a treatment rehab facility, as they feel that his timing is suspicious!
While in conversation with TMZ Abimbola ‘Bola’ and Olabinjo ‘Ola’ Osundario stated that if Jussie was sincere about addressing any issues he’s struggling with that require treatment, he could’ve been sought help. The brothers claim that the former ‘Empire’ star purposely waited until an appeals court began to close in on a ruling for Jussie’s conviction of staging a hate crime.
Both Ola and Bola claim that Jussie and his legal team have calculated his moves because he knows that he has a slim chance of having his conviction overturned. They believe that the 41-year-old is attempting to secure sympathy and is hoping to receive house arrest instead of actual jail time.
Despite their claims Ola and Bola state that they wish Jussie well and hope he gets the help he needs while adding, “The truth will set him free.”
TMZ reports that Jussie is currently in an outpatient rehab program for substance abuse other than alcohol.
As we previously reported Jussie was sentenced to 150 days in jail after he was found guilty of staging an alleged racist and homophobic hate crime in 2019. He is said to have hired the Osundario brothers to carry out the act by posing as Trump supporters.
The two men testified during the trial that Jussie did hire them.
