Cousins! Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is joining in on the jokes surrounding his recently unveiled wax figure in Paris, while also noting that some necessary changes must be made beginning with his skin color!

The Rock began to trend throughout social media last week after the Musée Grévin in Paris, France debuted their wax figure depiction of the beloved actor. Fans immediately noticed a difference in appearance of the wax figure as they accused the museum of ‘white washing.’

According to CNN, The Rock’s late father and wrestler Rocky Johnson was of Black Nova Scotian descent and his mother Ata Maivia is of Samoan decent.

The Rock took to social media on Sunday evening to poke fun at the wax figure himself in posting a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson along with a caption that read, “I knew my boy had this Rock wax statue roasting in his cross hair.”

“‘Is this how y’all felt when you lost the Little Mermaid?’” The 51 year old quoted Jefferson with a laughing emoji.

“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum, in Paris France so we can work at ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements – starting with my skin color,” he wrote.

In response Musée Grévin said on Monday that they are currently working on updating the wax figure.

“And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself.”
