Cousins! Jaden Smith has recently revealed why as an adult he has decided to use natural medication over any other stimulant and how his mother was the very first person to introduce their entire family to psychedelic drugs!
While speaking at the Psychedelic Science conference in Denver last Friday as a panelist, Jaden spoke on how he was able to find a deeper sense of empathy and love for his siblings through natural medication. “I think it was my mom, actually, that was really the first one to make that step for the family. It was just her for a really, really long time and then eventually it just trickled and evolved, and everybody found it in their own ways.”
Jaden adds, “Siblings can argue so much and fight so much, and lord knows me and my siblings have done so much of that in the past,” he said. “But the level of love and empathy that I can feel for them inside of the (psychedelic) experiences and outside of the experiences has been something that’s profound and beautiful.”
Both Jada Pinkett-Smity and Jaden had initially spoken about their family’s use of psychedelics within a 2021 aired episode of The Red Table Talk and the experiences they’ve endured.
Jada had stated that she was introduced to plant medicine 10 years prior and it helped assist her with depression. The mother of two says psychedelics helped knock out the sadness she’d often feel while also declaring that therapy and being put on Prozac doesn’t work for everyone.
“I struggled with depression for so long. And the thing about the plant medicine is it helps you feel better but also solves the problems of how you got there in the first place.”
According to ET, Jaden explained that recent studies have declared mushrooms as one of the most significant advances in treating depression. He says that Prozac inspired his use of psychedelics and that he had begun using it out of curiosity. The 24-year-old says it ultimately led him to understand ego for the first time.
“It was always in my head talking, telling me what I was and what I wasn’t,” said Jaden.
He continued, “That was the moment that really changed me. You get to a place where you are blocked by something, whether it’s a trauma or your emotions or ego, not being able to express yourself. Psychedelics are a way to tear down that wall and see what is beyond it. Doing it guided with people who are professionals really increases the chances of having that mystical experience.”
It should be noted that psychedelics are still illegal and that each person should be guided by a professioal when deciding to take them.
“You have to really wanna do it, this is not for play,” said Jada. “You have to be willing to confront some hard stuff. It is very healing and it has changed my life.”
She says professional care and guidance is the only way to insure proper use as it may lead you to a deeply vulnerable state.
