Cousins! Sadly, another couple has decided to call it quits as circulating reports confirm that Eva Marcille has officially filed for divorce from her husband Michael Sterling following four years of marriage!
The 38 year old filed for petition earlier this month on March 23rd noting in obtained court documents that the couple’s marriage is, “irretrievably broken.”
Within an official statement to People’s Magazine Eva explained, “This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting,”
She continued, “Our children remain our biggest priority and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
Eva’s attorney has indicated that the former couple, “are currently living in a bona fide state of separation.”
Eva and Michael tied the knot in 2018 they share three children together. A 4-year-old son Michael Sterling, Jr., that they welcomed in 2018 and three year old Maverick Sterling. Eva also has a daughter named Marley Rae from her previous relationship with ex Kevin McCall. It has been stated that Michael has been a father figure to her throughout the years.
Reports read that the former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ series winner is currently seeking legal and primary custody of their kids, child support and support with “care and maintenance” and medical costs.
It has been indicated that Eva has also requested for the court to award her “equitable division” of the assets that they’ve both gained during their marriage; including her own separate property. She also wants their debt to be “equitably divided”.
News of their split caught fans by surprise as it was only one month ago that they appeared to be happily in love on social media for Valentine’s Day.
“My forever Valentine,” read Michael’s caption.
He continued, “I am so in love with you that there isn’t anything else.” Happy St. Valentine’s Day. #thesterlings“
Eva had also posted a photo of them together for Valentine’s Day as well as another photo of Michael on Instagram earlier this year back in January with sunflower emoji.
Folks have even poured into both Eva and Michael’s comment sections on social media pleading for the couple to get back together and make it work.
