Cousins! An official verdict has been reached within the tragic 2018 fatal shooting of beloved artist XXX Tentacion as three men have been found guilty of first degree murder!
According to reports from KTLA 5 News , Michael Boatwright, 28, Dedrick Williams, 26, and Trayvon Newsome, 24, have also been charged with armed robbery for shooting XXX outside of a Broward County, South Florida motorcycle shop while also stealing $50,000 in cash from him.
The incident was described as a robbery gone wrong as the three men crossed paths with the 20 year old upon them purchasing face masks a part of their heist. It has been stated that the men had been plotting the area and ran across XXX and that’s when they moved in on him as a target. Their scheme turned tragic as the young rapper fought back and they fatally shot him.
During trial, it was stated that after shooting XXX, Boatwright texted someone a message that read, “Tell my brother I got the money for the new phone” paired with a screenshot of an article detailing that XXXTentacion had been murdered.
The prosecution team also discovered in evidence that Boatwright had searched online for “accessory to murder.”
As per HypeBeast, Boatwright and Newsome are said to have stolen $50,000 in cash from XXXTentacion, and Williams was identified as being the getaway driver.
Amongst the three culprits has been another man identified as Robert Allen. Court documents show that he took a plea deal back in 2022 in exchange for second-degree murder he testified against all three of the men involved.
Sentencing is scheduled for Boatwright, Williams and Newsome next month on April 6. Florida law details that all first-degree murder charges automatically receive a life sentence.
XXXTentacion born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy’s mother Cleopatra Bernard, says she received closure in the men responsible for her son’s death being jailed. She told TMZ , that she can finally move forward with her life as well.
