Cousins! Quinta Brunson is rightfully racking up academy awards left and right for her fan favorite comedy series ‘Abbott Elementary’ and she’s taking her team with her!
Within the last couple of week’s the Philadelphia native added to her long list of wins as she took home a Golden Globe for ‘Best Actress In A Comedy Series’ including accepting ‘Best Television Series’ alongside her cast mates.

Actor Willie Tyler James Williams also took home his very first Golden Globe for ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical-Comedy or Drama Television Series’ his performance as Mr. Eddie in ‘Abbott Elementary’.
“I love y’all. It’s an honor to work with you everyday,” said Tyler. He went on to acknowledge his character’s role in saying, “I pray that this is a win for Gregory Eddie and for his story and for stories like this that we may understand but his story just as important as all of the other stories that have to be told out here. Thank you so much for this.”
Their winning streak didn’t need there as beloved actress Sheryl Lee Ralph went viral for her impactful speech in winning a Critics Choice Award for ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series’ for her performance as Barbara Howard in Abbott Elementary.
“People don’t have to like you. People don’t have to love you. They don’t even have to respect you. But when you look in the mirror, you better love what you see,” said Sheryl to viewed at home.
To end the night on Sunday Quinta alongside fellow cast members Lisa Ann Walter, Tyler, Sheryl, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti and William Stanford Davis accepted a Critics Choice Award for ‘Best Comedy Series.
“ I love being able to make a comedy that people like that’s recognized by the critics and people at home alike. I love that we get to have a really good time but also bring light to the teachers in America,” said Quinta.
Abbott Elementary debuted on December 7th 2021 and instantly became a fan favorite from it’s relatable jokes and impactful conversations surrounding the public school systems experience for both students and faculty members across the country.
