Cousins! There’s been a series of new updates with the Tory Lanez shooting trial as he’s not only gave his former representing attorney their walking papers but also has a reported court appearance scheduled before his actual sentencing!

According to Law & Crime senior editor Meghann Cuniff, Tory was scheduled to appear in court this week Tuesday on January 10th alongside his new legal counsel. He was previously represented by George Mgdesyan and has now hired SugeKnight ‘s former attorney David Kennel.

“Regarding Tory Lanez’s Tuesday court date, yes, there is a date listed on the jail roster. It’s not on Judge Herriford’s calendar, and he’s got a bunch of other stuff at the time. Attorney David Kenner confirmed to me last week he’s now representing Tory,” tweeted Meghann.

Prior to his hearing George cleared up circulated rumors that he was fired. He reveals that he still supports Tory but also made it clear in saying, “I don’t do appeals, so we had to get somebody on board to handle the appeal”

According to reports from Fox News, Tory has received a new sentencing date scheduled for Feb. 28th. David told reporters earlier this week that he is currently awaiting for copies of transcripts from December’s trial in order for the defense team to properly prepare a motion for a new trial.

Tory is currently facing the possibility of spending 22 years and 8 months in prison after being found guilty of assault and two additional charges for shooting Houston, Texas native Megan Thee Stallion back in 2020.
